Loxam har åtagit sig att köpa ett hundra Ironhand®-enheter ifrån Bioservo Technologies under 2020 för en rikstäckande lansering i Frankrike.

Called IronHand, it builds on previous work in developing a robotic glove to assist stroke victims or others with a weak grip. Bioservo Technologies AB has signed a distribution agreement with Alpha Quantix for selling Ironhand® in USA. The agreement increases the geographical reach and opens up new industrial segments in Bioservo bills the Ironhand as the world’s first robotic muscle strengthening system for professional use. The design goal is to reduce fatigue and injury due to the repetition of the same grip motion. The Ironhand is based on the company’s patent portfolio on SEM™ (Soft Extra Muscle) technology. Bioservo Technologies has been developing powered-glove exoskeletons for well over a decade, so it is not entirely clear which parts of the NASA RoboGlove have been integrated into the company’s hand soft robotic exoskeleton portfolio.
